confidence is not "they will like me" confidence is "i'll be fine if they don't." - Christina Grimme
I have always loved fashion I used to write about it in high school, but being 5'3'' I quickly shrugged off the idea of modeling or doing much in the fashion world. But let me tell you, I was a hardcore ANTM follower. One of my favorites being cycle 13 when Tyra allowed shorter gals on the show + taught them techniques to make themselves look taller on camera. Oh yea. Anyone else an America's Next Top Model fan?
Once I started having kids I realized even more how silly a dream like that would be since my young fit body became the "mom" body at the age of 20. Let me tell you it took me a LONG freaking time to accept this beautiful post-baby body covered in stretch marks + loose skin. But as I have slowly accepted myself the more I have let myself enjoy photography + fashion again. Yes, social media is covered in beautiful women, but YOU are beautiful too! For years, this inner voice has kept saying "you are not enough", but as I have matured + surrounded myself with positive + encouraging people who have accepted me as me, I know that I AM ENOUGH. You are enough! Chase those dreams you think you aren't pretty enough for, or smart enough, or talented enough. If you want something don't let those fears stop you.
Ok. I say all this because if you met me you would know I'm a little shy, not the most confident person around. When I'm nervous I talk a mile a minute. But I'm pushing myself in this new season to reach out more + try things that make me uncomfortable. So being in front of the camera for me is SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE because I've always hidden behind it. But at this point what do I have to lose? nothing. Pursuing each challenge will only push me to better.
Anyways, here is my LOOK for the Lee & Birch runway show + a few shots from Thursday night!
